Director's Report - July 2015.
I would like to welcome you to this, the first of my monthly reports. Each month I will try to cover a new area which we hope will be of some interest to you, or possibly at times even help you with your knowledge or passion for the game that we are all involved with!! I will endeavour to update you as well as provide advice in a variety of areas covering the coming 12 month period.
I have just returned from a 3 week tour of 3 major International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior events in Austria and Italy. The ITF is responsible for many areas of tennis including an entire range of events across the world. I was there in the capacity of “coach” to a young Australian player and one of Boroondara clients. The advantage of being fortunate enough to be at these events and see first-hand the next group of potential professional players is many folds and provides an opportunity to see where the latest tennis trends in relation to playing and coaching are currently.
By being involved with a player at these tournaments, it allows me to bring back certain ideas in these areas for our own coaches at BTC, and to be able to pass the benefits on to a range of our clients. It can also mean that it shows we are on the right track with our clients and where we can improve or review things as well. On the court side of things, it provides the opportunity of looking at events, seeing facilities there and where Boroondara Tennis Centre sits in comparison, what plans we may be able to present to Council for the entire community to gain benefit from, as well as take a look at how these facilities generally operate and what common services they all provide for their members and clientele. It also allows us to see how and what promotional and sponsorship ideas are at these events which can hopefully assist us in attracting new sponsors for our extensive range of events and programs.
Over the coming issues I will touch on some of these areas for you! I look forward to updating our BTC clientele.
Cheers!
